BROADOAKS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Sophie and Graeme’s beautiful wedding at Broadoaks Country Hotel, Windermere
Lake Windermere, a scorching Summer Bank Holiday weekend, and bride Sophie wants to go on a boat… And never one to disappoint my clients, we duly hopped in my messy car and drove down to the waterfront… where a million other Lake District holiday makers all had the same idea. And quite frankly, some bride in a beautiful white frock wasn’t going to get in their way. Sometimes, you just have to let the idea go…
Weddings are a bit like that. You have all these amazing ideas – like getting married outdoors under a beautiful pergola whilst the sun shines down – tick. Having your favourite uncle do his amazing fire eating party trick – tick. And bringing along your cute stuffed mouse – tick. But occasionally things don’t go to plan and if they don’t, don’t sweat it. Just crack on having an amazing day, like Sophie and Graeme. We may not have made it to the boats, but it was still a pretty awesome day all round.
Under clear blue skies, these two said I do surrounded by friends and family at the Broadoaks Country House Hotel. There were hints of William Morris, the best table plan I’ve ever seen, and a proper jukebox. And did I mention the chocolate brick? Graeme makes totally delicious and huge bricks of chocolate.. the drawback being you need a mallet and a chisel to eat the blummin thing! But man, they are tasty.
Sophie’s hair and make up was done by the effervescent Lucinda Hayton who kept me laughing all morning and it was great to meet Laura and her floral team from Greenwheat Flowers who created all the beautiful blooms.
A big shout out to the both of them for having me along and a wave to their mates Sim and Ali, whose wedding I shot eons ago, and who were my lighting bitches for the evening. Top notch.
