I don’t do many styled wedding shoots…. I think they get a bit repetitive and there’s so many photographers out there doing really lovely ones that it has to really fire my imagination to get involved in a massive project. But then Hayley at the Faversham in Leeds came along. She promised me something different. She promised me Studio 54… she promised me roller boots…. she promised me DISCO!
So this week, armed with a plethora of fantastic suppliers who pulled out all the stops, we shot this…. yeah, it’s not your usual wedding styled shoot. But we’ve all seen those a million times right?
Many thanks go to The Faversham for having the balls to let me loose in their venue – and if you’re looking for an awesome place to get married, the Faversham is it. You can totally make it your own and with its rich musical history, where better to get married if you love going to gigs and drinking shots.
Together with the amazing talents of Lynnie at Stems Design, they created some amazing table scapes with giant disco balls and pink orchids – Lynnie also created the disco ball bouquet which was all kinds of mind blowing! And there was a make your own cocktail table (and everyone needs one of these at a wedding). Jamball has been slaving away for weeks making our disco themed button/brooch bouquet and boutonnierre and also came up trumps with the gold vinyl backdrop. Jenny from Revive Me Boutique designed us some especially sparkly disco shoes – every girl there wanted them! Butterflies and Angels knocked us up a heavenly music themed wedding cake, Chrissie at Hat Therapy made all kinds of crazy disco head gear, Jane at HF Couture loaned us pretty sparkly head pieces, James Steward Couture and Z R is Unique loaned us gowns, the brilliant Deb at Zeitgeist hair created all kinds of heavenly bouffants and the ultra talented Alison Martin painted on awesome disco styled make-up. Thanks to Coco Luminaire for loaning us the giant light up letters and to my mate Andy B for letting me borrow his white guitar.
Hugs to our models Sarah, Sarah and Ash who were also pretty neat and put up with my insane demands.
And big slobbery kisses to my partner in crime Paul Joseph. I have literally no idea what I would do without him. Not only does he shout me down when I need it, but he also lights all my shots. He is also a flippin mean second shooter. Thanks buddy. I owe you big time.
These are my highlights.
