I love engagement shoots… or e-shoots as we like to call em. Most people in the UK feel a little bit weird when it comes to getting their photographs taken. I totally get it. Most of us feel self conscious when someone points a camera at us – unless of course, it’s a selfie, in the pub when you’re slightly drunk!
Having an e-shoot is great for nerves. If you’re one of those people who instantly put on that fake smile for photographs (or your mates have told you to practise your smile in the mirror ready for the big day), then the e-shoot is for you. No more fake smiles! No more running in the opposite direction as soon as I whip out my camera. Just nice, natural, relaxed portraits so that when we finally get to the wedding, you’ll be a complete natural in front of my lens. Perfect.
I met up with Jenny and Jonny recently for a little practise session – it was cold… there were hats! There was also a bit of laughing, some jumping, laying on the floor and general mayhem. I’m hoping their wedding will be equally fun filled.
Here’s some of my favourites from their shoot.
