Grays Court winter Wedding in York ~ Modern documentary photograpy
I love winter weddings in York. The light is always awesome, despite the fact that it doesn’t stick around very long. Flower choices get really interesting, and brides get to wear woolly shawls and cardigans on top of their gorgeous gowns.
Cheryl and Dan live in New Zealand… where the light is also awesome. But they chose Grays Court in York for their nuptials so they could be surrounded by all their lovely friends and family for an intimate winter wedding at the beginning of January.
We’re not going to mention the snowboarding incident the week before the wedding, where Cheryl almost broke her leg.. definately not gonna mention that.
Still, despite the odd injury, she managed to make it down the aisle without the crutches and looked bloody marvellous in her Martina Illiana gown (which no doubt she will be wearing again for wedding number two back in NZ) and her rather stunning Kurt Geiger sparkly red ‘Wizard of Oz’ shoes. Awesome blooms were provided by Joanna Keely, and Natalie Willingham was on hand for make up and hair duties.
Here’s a handful of my favourites from the day.
