Urban city wedding at White Cloth Gallery – Leeds Wedding Photographer
There’s something about shooting a city wedding. All that urban architecture to use for backdrops, cool spots for portraits, real life as opposed to shooting in a beautiful castle for instance. Not that I’m averse to shooting in beautiful castles, but I do love a wedding where the focus is on the party and how to have a bloody good time.
Marie and Stefan are total and utter party animals. I lost count of the amount of times Stefan offered me beer. I spent the morning with Marie and her gorgeous bridesmaids at the impressive elegance of Quebecs Hotel in Leeds, where she donned that amazing Jenny Packham gown (complete wedding budget blown in one fell swoop!), grabbed her bouquet and headed out the door to walk to the Town Hall.
Once there, Stefan and his best man were waiting nervously looking pretty cool in their designer shirts and waistcoats before Marie and Stefan’s cute as a button daughter walked down the aisle waving her little flag and winning over every heart in the room. Then there were some ‘I do’s’ and before you know it, we were out on the Town Hall steps and the hustle and bustle of the city.
After a few family portraits, we headed off for some pictures with the best man and bridesmaids and fell into the sumptuous surroundings of Iberica where the light is always amazing. And, as the weather was blummin lovely, we felt the need to rehydrate with a beer. My job is soooo hard. After a bit of clowning around and making some gorgeous portraits in the toilet (you know how I love the toilets in Iberica), it was off to the White Cloth Gallery for confetti, beer and burgers.
It’s always lovely to bump into old clients, so it was great to see Stefan’s sister Amy and her fella Jamie whose wedding I shot a few years back in York, along with their little family.
So without further ado, here’s some of my favourite shots of the day from Marie and Stefan’s White Cloth Gallery Wedding… like I said, party central!
