Cool Industrial Wedding at The Venue Bowers Mill of Lucy and Stephen in Barkisland Halifax
If you’re Northern (like me), then you’re probably pretty proud of the industrial heritage around these parts. From mills to mining, we’ve embraced it all. So it comes as no surprise that some of our wonderful old industrial buildings are now being turned into fantastic wedding venues including this industrial wedding at The Venue Bowers Mill. Where once we had busy hands creating cloth or engineering parts, we now have big celebrations amid our proud heritage.
Lucy and Stephen got hitched in one of my favourite industrial venues, The Venue Bowers Mill in Barkisland, Halifax. This old cloth mill has been sensitively converted so that there is still the essence of its old heritage with beautiful wooden floors and exposed brick, but with all the modern amenities you need. Whilst it still sits in an industrial landscape, it also boasts a large lake so you can get married indoors or outdoors!
Ceremony in the Spinning Room
Lucy and Stephen got married in the Spinning Room with its marvellous vaulted ceiling, in a lovely emotional ceremony, before we did our best to drink our way through all the Yorkshire beers on offer! Lucy looked incredible in her Lace and Co boho style gown accented by a dried flower crown.
