I love festival weddings - well, I'm a seasoned Glastonbury girl, so it stands to reason that I would love a festival style wedding. All those glorious fields filled with wheat, beautiful summer evenings, great music, and a laid back vibe.
More and more couples are opting for something a little bit more down to earth and relaxed these days and you don't get much more relaxed than a great festival, hippy, flower power wedding in a tipi, yurt, beautiful old barn or, for the very brave, an outdoor woodland ceremony. Over the last few years, I've had the privilege of hanging out to document some amazing rustic weddings. I've lost count of the number of weddings I've shot at the luxury Wharfedale Grange, and love nothing more than all that glorious food at the Cheerful Chilli - plus, sunsets there are epic!
But I've also shot at some other amazing places. Autumn outdoor ceremonies at Camp Katur, the donkey sanctuary at Lineham Farm in Leeds, an Alice in Wonderland affair in a tipi at Whelprigg House, as rustic as it comes at South Farm, the contemporary barn at The Normans. stately Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey and at the totally lovely Lodge Farm Barns. Of course, the weather isn't always kind to us, but I have wellies.... and who doesn't love a bride in wellies eh?
