As a Yorkshire-based editorial wedding photographer, I don’t just take wedding snaps – I craft your story from beginning to end. If you want your wedding images to have a stylish, natural edge, rather than the usual wedding snaps with forced smiles, and predictable poses, you’re in the right place.

When it comes to choosing your wedding photographer, it’s not just about ticking a box on your to-do list. Your photographer will be the one capturing the emotions, atmosphere, and unforgettable moments of your day. If you want emotive imagery that feels timeless and sophisticated, then an editorial wedding photographer might just be what you’re looking for.

WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR EDITORIAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

Stylish, cool, romantic and emotion filled images from an editorial Wedding Photographer

Unlike traditional wedding photography, which might focus solely on posed group shots or straightforward documentation, editorial photography strikes a balance. It’s about blending creative styling with genuine, unscripted moments. And the result is a collection of images that not only look stunning, and timeless, but also capture the essence of who you are as a couple.

My goal is to capture the moments that matter most while giving them a touch of sophistication. From the way the light falls across your dress to the unguarded laughter shared between friends, every detail and every moment tells a story.

What is an editorial wedding Photographer?

Editorial wedding photography takes inspiration from high-end magazines and fashion editorials. It’s about combining beauty and storytelling to create images that are both artistic and authentic. Think timeless portraits with an elegant edge, candid moments that feel natural yet polished, and a cohesive narrative that reflects the vibe of your wedding day.

Unlike traditional wedding photography, which might focus solely on posed group shots or straightforward documentation, editorial photography strikes a balance, so that you get images that are timeless, elegant but with bags of personality.

My Approach to Editorial Wedding Photography

My style is timeless yet contemporary. I focus on clean compositions, natural light, and a colour palette that feels rich and cinematic. Whether it’s a soft, romantic portrait or a moody black-and-white shot of the two of you stealing a moment away from the crowd, I aim to evoke real emotion in every frame.

Weddings can be a whirlwind of activity, and the last thing you need is a photographer barking orders or dragging you off for endless posed shots. My approach is relaxed and informal. I’ll blend into the background during the candid moments, capturing the atmosphere as it naturally unfolds. When it comes to portraits, I’ll guide you gently to ensure you look your best, but my aim is always to make you feel comfortable and at ease whilst having a little bit of fun.

THE WEDDING DAY DETAILS

As an editorial photographer, I love capturing all the details. Whether it’s the intricate beading on your gown, the perfume you’ve chosen especially, the carefully created table settings, or the small things most people don’t notice, I’ll capture the little things that make your day unique. These details don’t just look beautiful – they play a significant part in the story of your wedding.

From the rolling hills of the Dales, to the grandeur of stately homes and iconic venues, I’ve photographed weddings across the UK and around the world. Whether you’re planning a chic city wedding in Leeds or a romantic celebration in a country house, I’ll be there to capture all the details… from the picture perfect landscapes and rustic barn doors, to the city streets, the grand pillars of stately homes and impressive architecture of Cathedral Weddings.

As someone who’s worked extensively in Yorkshire and the UK, I know how to make the most of the light, the scenery, and the character of your venue. I’ll create images that are as much about your connection as they are about the place you’ve chosen to celebrate.

GOT SOME QUESTIONS?

Of course, I usually tell my couples to have an hour of bride or groom prep so I can capture all the anticipation, the nerves and excitement before you say I do.

Of course. A lot of my editorial wedding couples love these details that they have agonised over. Whether it’s vintage cufflinks, Jimmy Choos, your grandmother’s bracelet or your favourite perfume, it’s all part of an editorial style wedding.

No problem. Your wedding day should be about you spending time with your guests – not with me taking hundreds of photos. My style is very editorial and documentary, so we only spend a short time on portraits.

Gone are the days when photographers were relegated to the back of the room. These days, we’re allowed to photograph you as you come down the aisle, and during the vows. But I always shoot silently and discreetly as possible so as not to distract you from actually saying I do! But I will be there to capture all the moments as they unfold.

A wedding wouldn’t be complete without confetti. Just remember to bring your own confetti and check with your venue for any rules and regulations.

Unlike a lot of photographers, I stay as long as you want. If you want to capture some of the dancefloor madness, just add a few more hours onto your coverage.

Absolutely. I always tell my couples to have about 8-10 family formal group shots. It’s best to have smaller group shots too, so try and concentrate on immediate family otherwise you run the risk of spending half the day ploughing through the formals when you could be having fun.

Depending on your venue and timings, I do try and squeeze in Vanity Fair inspired photo for your wedding party. But these do take a little bit of setting up so if you definitely want one, give yourself enough time for it to happen by lengthening your drinks reception by 15 minutes.
