Gill & Paddy’s crazy tipi, barn and country house wedding in Settle.

I suppose when it comes down to it, if you just can’t decide what kind of wedding venue you want, then Taitlands is perfect. Not only is it a beautiful country house set in the rolling hills in Settle, stuffed full of antiques with one of those enormous country kitchens that most people can only dream of, it’s also got a barn… and a tipi… So Gill and Paddy were spoiled for choice when it came to their wedding.

First off they got hitched in the drawing room whilst skyping family and friends who couldn’t make it over for the ceremony, then when we realised no-one had brought confetti, we improvised with a bag of rice instead. Then we cut the cake and ate it whilst playing the best game of crazy golf ever! All weddings should have crazy golf… and cake in the afternoon.  The beautiful walled garden at Taitlands looked suitably summery and well, you can’t beat a view over them thar hills.

Then it was into the barn for those embarrassing speeches and dinner, then onto the tipi, where Gill and Paddy’s mates brought the house down by playing some amazing rock – seeing Gill’s mum playing air guitar is one of my highlights! What a girl!

I think I pretty much laughed the entire day – these two and their incredibly fun families, were a joy to be around. Here’s a few of my favourite shots from their fun filled wedding.
