Being a wedding photographer is a brilliant job. I get to go all over the country and explore new places and old favourites. Last week I was in one of my favourite cities, Manchester. I love shooting in Manchester. There’s always some brilliant new art or graffiti to incorporate, there’s always great new bars to visit and there’s always brilliant food to be consumed.

I met up with Louise and Tom recently for their engagement shoot – it poured with rain! Wouldn’t you know it! I guess that’s Manchester for ya. But it’s good practice to remember that no matter what kind of wedding you’re having, the British weather is kinda unpredictable. Always plan for rain and if you get sun instead, it’s a win!

Engagement shoots can be a whole lotta fun too… even in the rain! Running around, dodging cars and pedestrians, pigeons and left over Saturday night detritus… my life is glamorous. But, I get to shoot cool stuff like this, with cool people like this. I can’t wait to shoot Lou and Tom’s wedding… I only hope the weather will be kinder.
