Catherine and Edd decided to have their wedding at Stoke Park. That in itself, is pretty splendid as it’s one of the most beautiful, impressive venues in Buckinghamshire. Then add into the mix an incredibly talented milliner uncle and, well, it certainly ticks all my boxes.
When my beardy mate and downright talented photographer, Matt Parry, heard that Catherine’s uncle Philip was creating her headpiece for her wedding, he knew I’d be falling over myself to shoot it. One of my best friend’s Chrissie King, is a milliner and I’ve spent many an hour in her workshop whilst she blocks and shapes and sculpts amazing head gear. I’ve also shot a lot of it for various magazines and newspapers, so when I got the call from Matt, I knew I had to be there.
And what a beautiful day it was. Catherine and her gorgeous bridesmaids looked amazing and pretty elegant in their outfits, and those head pieces were to die for. They even managed to squeeze me in to the back seat of the car as we hurried to get to church. And, not only did I get to shoot amazing hats, I also got to drive a golf buggy… I bloody love golf buggies!
Thanks to Catherine and Edd for letting me tag along and to my lovely mate Matt – it’s always a pleasure to hang out with him, even if he did let me fall down the stairs! Love ya buddy!
