Reasons to have a Town Head Estate Wedding

First and foremost, Town Head Estate has the most wonderful setting. It enjoys an exclusive setting on the banks of Lake Windermere in the Lake District – perfect for those who want privacy and luxury.

The Ceremony

You can choose a variety of locations to get married at Town Head Estate. Whether you choose a sperry tent next to the lake, an outdoor ceremony in the Orchard, on the beach, a woodland ceremony at the Tree Circle or inside the barn itself, you are literally spoiled for choice.

Lakeside Location

Of course, Town Head Estate is nestled on the banks of Lake Windermere which is a mere 20 minute drive from the M6, whilst London is just 2 hours 40 by train. Bowness is ten minutes away with a host of independent shops, guest houses, cafes and restaurants.

Getting Ready

On the morning of your wedding, there is the perfect place for your entourage to get ready, right within Town Head Estate.

The luxurious Beauty Room has space for your make-up artist or hair dresser, lots of mirrors and comfy seats, and of course, a chiller for the champagne!

You can spend a chilled out morning getting ready in luxury with your VIPs, before heading upstairs to the Honeymoon Cottage to put on your wedding suit or gown.

The CEREMONY

You are literally spoiled for choice when it comes to ceremony locations at Town Head Estate.

You can opt to get married almost anywhere in the grounds… with half a mile of lake frontage, and 130 acres of private grounds, the only limit is your imagination.

Why not get married outside the rustic Kitchen Glasshouse, or in the Orchard surrounded by apple trees? If you want the full lakeside view, then a ceremony on the banks of Windermere is for you. Smaller weddings can opt for a ceremony on the beach, the Lake Shore near the Boat House, or the Park next to the Lake – just watch out for the donkeys!

There are so many beautiful options to get married outdoors at Town Head, but don’t forget you can also get married in the barn itself, surrounded by original stone walls and beams – it’s the perfect combination of modern and traditional.

GOT SOME QUESTIONS?

Of course, I usually tell my couples to have an hour of bride or groom prep so I can capture all the anticipation, the nerves and excitement before you say I do.

Lots of couples write their own personalised vows and this gives a much less formal feel to proceedings. It’s so much nicer to write something that is meaningful.

No problem. Yur wedding day should be about you spending time with your guests – not with me taking hundreds of photos. My style is very editorial and documentary, so we only spend a short time on portraits. But if there’s a sunset at the Boat House, we might borrow the Town Head buggy for a quick photo at the shore.

Absolutely. If you fancy being captain for an hour or two, we can zoom around the lake whilst you enjoy some champagne and I will be there to take all the images so you can remember every second.

Gone are the days when photographers were relegated to the back of the room. These days, we’re allowed to photograph you as you come down the aisle, and during the vows. But I always shoot silently and discreetly as possible so as not to distract you from actually saying I do! But I will be there to capture all the moments as they unfold.

The steps down to the Croquet Lawn are perfect for a confetti shot. Just remember to bring your own confetti!

Unlike a lot of photographers, I stay as long as you want. If you want to capture some of the dancefloor madness, just add a few more hours onto your coverage.

The estate is totally exclusive just for you. No other weddings take place there on the same day. It’s like being a rock star for one day!
