Welcome to Wharfedale Grange.

As wedding barns go, it doesn’t get more luxurious and high end than this. Do not be fooled by the rustic nature of the exterior as you drive past on the way to Harrogate, Wharfedale Grange is very much the luxury venue of your wedding dreams.

Early last year, I popped in to see the lovely Claire who runs Wharfedale, to have a nosey at her architects drawings and have a chat about her ideas for turning this agricultural barn into the prime wedding venue in Yorkshire. When she told me she’d be up and running in less than a year, I think I may have raised an eyebrow. But by golly, she’s bloody gone and done it. And it really is absolutely gobsmackingly beautiful.

If you want cool rustic, with fine soft furnishings, the biggest rose gold disco ball you ever did see, crittal windows, a super stylish bar and amazing views, then this is the place to get married.

I popped along this week to take some pictures of the venue (they were still polishing the North Barn ceremony room floor when I arrived so you’ll have to wait a bit to see that) and have a nosey round. I remember shooting in this barn back when it was home to tractors and bits of agriculture machinery. Now, it boasts a beautiful wood floor, reclaimed wood panelling. about a million glorious chandeliers, deep velvet dining chairs, and even the tables are branded with the peacock Wharfedale logo.

There’s a beautiful Dressing Gallery for the bride or groom to get ready in, complete with chaise and lots of mirrors. The Cart Barn is home to the cool bar, whilst above is a chill out mezzanine which is full of quirky objet d’art, a steel and glass bridge. plush sofas and even a wood burner for chilly winter evenings. Even the loos are immense.. the charging points for your mobile are also a brilliant touch.

The large crittall windows in the South Barn frame the gorgeous views across the nearby fields and there’s plenty of space for dancing, partying and general merriment. And, if the weather is kind, the biggest patio in the world is right outside. It almost feels like a French chateau… if they made French chateau’s in Yorkshire.

If you’re planning your wedding and looking for a barn wedding venue, put it on your list… but be quick… I have a feeling it’s going to be very popular.
